Once in game press Escape to enter into GUI mode, once in GUI mode click the options button to bring up the options window.
Once in the options menu, click the GUI Options button to bring up the GUI options window.
With the GUI options window now open, scroll to the bottom and check both the "Display FPS" box and the "Display Ping" box to have both of those visible on your system chat bar.
